"Leaders bloom leaders." ~ Roymi V. Membiela, business and management consultant
Hi there, many of you know me as the healthcare marketer, others know me from my days in media sales, there may be a bunch who remember me from my path as a transportation public affairs voice, and of course the group who followed me on my solo travelers meetup planning adventures around the world; you may have worked with me or around me through my various career journeys, including my days as a supermarket cashier, a credit rep in a major department store, a real estate professional or as a corporate executive making transformational decisions. Of course, there are my friends and family who have been by my side through the different facets of my life trajectory, highs and lows … and they are the ones who know me the best.
No matter how you know me, I have had to answer hundreds of questions on why I chose coaching. The answer is very simple … coaching chose me.
Very ingrained in me throughout my life was the desire and commitment to groom men and women around me to achieve their highest level of potential.
I knew that at some point in my career I would have time to blend my knowledge, resources, and contacts with the passion to support others, and thus here now I am ecstatic to introduce you to Roymi Membiela & Company, Coaching and Consulting.
For those who feel better reading professional pedigrees, my respectful apologies, I am afraid that you won’t find a lot of that info here. A quick visit to LinkedIn may satisfy your curiosity. I prefer that you get to know what moves me here, and will attempt to do so through these lines.
Why is this the right time for me to choose coaching?
I have collected enough knowledge and bruises from my professional legacy, thus I know how it feels to walk the lonely corporate corridors side-by-side empty suits, crafting politically correct jargon, and remediating unkempt promises.
I have had the privilege of working for and around brilliant minds, whose only focus was to do the right thing, not because it made business sense, but because it was ethical and honorable. I have to share that I have also experienced opposite and undesirable patterns.
I have seen careers aligned for success, as well as professionals derailed for missteps along the way.
Nothing in life or business seems unimportant for me, since I feel that my presence on this landscape called world serves a great purpose, and I won’t rest until every last breath will be used to make a positive mark on the space I occupy.
I have matured to know that there are more questions than answers, but when we take the time to look within, it is surprisingly refreshing to embrace all that we are, and all that we know.
It is perfectly fine for me now to focus on coaching, since I don’t need to impress anyone with a corner office, a fancy title, or an attractive corporate budget. Having had all of these, and more, it is liberating to know how my baggage I have shed, to make room for the significant people who value how I can enhance their lives.
I have learned to embrace health limitations that guide how and when I expose myself to the harmful impact of stress. There has been enough damage in my life from uncontrolled stress, and why my mission is to guide my clients to understand their vulnerabilities and priorities. Stress is a silent killer, and an energy suction. Our core energy is our most valuable secret weapon, I have learned to safeguard mine and now want to help my clients do the same.
It is time for me to retake my hunger for entrepreneurship, as well as cultivate the innovation and entrepreneurship bug in the many men and women who have tried for too long to be the proverbial 'square peg in the round hole' within corporate environments... and yes there is a little rebel in all of us, and I am greatly enjoying mine.
In total transparency, I have also chosen coaching because for many years I have been the go-to coach for colleagues and friends, whether for lifestyle, career or business coaching – and of course, it is time that I formalize the process as a business, while nurturing this passion of mine.
My clients speak English, Spanish or Spanglish, most importantly I empower them to speak from the heart, no matter in what corner of the world they may live.
Coaching chose me because as a marketer, I understand the importance of owning our personal brand, and one of the roles that I take to heart is to instill the value of personal branding among my clients. Nothing happens in an organization before leaders own their responsibility to enrich the personal brand of the guardians of the corporate brand. Sounds like a mouthful, right? But it is simple … I guide leaders to bloom leaders, with the simple notion that by doing so employees will see their roles with a mastery mentality, since their own personal brand is vested in their assignments.
I believe that my best lessons have been acquired through my worldly travels and the people that I have met along the way – 46 countries and still holding space for many traveling adventures on my bucket list.
I also believe in giving back, whether financially, through time, of by sharing my gifts. My commitment as a professional coach or consultant is to make sure that you see measurable value from our engagement.
If you are ready to bloom your career, your relationships, or your business, I welcome the opportunity to be a part of your journey.
When I decided to become a professional coach, I knew that my intuition would not be enough to best serve my clients, so I set forth to formalize my training, achieving extensive academic studies and certifications … after all, I didn’t want my experience to speak for itself, it was important for me to learn from the brightest and best, so that when the time rolled around my clients could trust me as a professionally trained and certified coach, and one who follows the honorable International Coaching Federation (ICF) guidelines.
